What Is PCB Assembly?
PCB assembly is short for printed circuit board assembly, which means soldering electronic components on the printed circuit board. Usually, it include SMT and DIP assembly.
SMT:Electronic circuit Surface Mount Technology (SMT), known as surface mount or surface mount technology. It is a pin-free or short-lead surface assembly component (referred to as SMC/SMD, Chinese called chip components) installed on the surface of the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) or other substrate surface, by reflow welding or dip welding and other methods to weld the circuit assembly technology.
DIP assembly: DIP assembly is usually carried out by wave soldering or hand welding. Experienced factories often adopt the most reasonable method according to product characteristics and requirements
One single PCB board assembly may contain all mixed PCB assembly technology, so PCB assembly companies should be experienced in all these techniques.

Frequently Asked Questions
PCB assembly means soldering electronic components onto a printed circuit board. PCBS and components have their functions, but they only work as fully functional products after they are all soldered together
"Yes". We strive to provide customers with fast turnaround PCBA services in various ways to meet your needs for fast turnaround PCBA
Standard quickturn times vary depending on the type and number of PCB components. Here are some examples.
1) Fast transfer PCBA service time is 1-5 days.
2) PCB assembly alone takes 1 week.
3) Turnkey PCB assembly or mass production time is 2-3 weeks.
4) Take 4 to 10 weeks for turnkey box assembly.
Below is a brief overview of some of the factors that affect the cost of PCB assembly.
1) Technology used: The assembly process can use surface mounting or through hole technology. Sometimes, some components may require the use of both technologies, but this increases the cost.
2) The number of layers of the board: The cost of a single-sided PCB component is usually lower than the cost of a double-sided or multi-layer PCBA.
3) Component size: Usually, using smaller components and making densely assembled boards will increase the cost.
4) The total number of components.
5) Compliance: Frequent multiple testing to ensure assembly compliance also adds to the cost.
6) Required process: Some PCB components may require a series of processes, such as wave soldering, X-ray inspection, automatic optical inspection, manual welding and other processes. These can add significantly to costs.
7) Flexible or rigid PCB components: Generally, the cost of flexible PCB components is higher than the cost of rigid PCB components.
8) Conformal coating: Cost is also affected by conformal coating requirements. The number of layers of conformal coating affects the cost.
9) Testing: From thermal cycling to circuit testing, many tests need to be carried out before shipping.
10) Packaging requirements: Special packaging requirements may lead to increased costs. Delivery: Costs may increase if expedited delivery times are required.
We can follow these steps to find a reliable PCBA supplier with the best PCB assembly services:
1) Find 5-10 PCB assemblers, view their experience, certification and customer reviews, and then narrow down to 3;
2) Send documents to 3 PCBA suppliers, check their prices, and understand their services after communication;
3) Select the best PCBA manufacturers to start trial orders.
Do you offer testing and inspection services for PCB assemblies?

As mentioned above, PCB is short for printed circuit board. It is the carrier of electronic components. All components are connected via PCB to achieve electronic functions. PCB assembly is short for printed circuit board assembly. It refers to the process of welding components to the PCB. PCBS and components have their functions, but they only work as fully functional products after they are all soldered together.

What does it take to get an PCB assembly quote?
If you want to get a quote for SMT manufacturing from an SMT manufacturing company, you need to answer the following questions that these SMT manufacturers need to know so that they can serve you.
◆ How many printed circuit boards do you want to order?
◆ The quantity of each part should usually have a BOM.
◆ Do you prefer SMT components on one or both sides of the PCB?
◆ Do you need a panel or a panel?
◆ Is SMT supplied entirely by yourself, partially by yourself, or entirely by the SMT manufacturer?
◆ Do you have PTH components on your PCB? Usually, it should be listed in the BOM.
◆ What is the delivery time of your SMT PCBA products?
How does PCB assembly work?
SMT(Surface Mount technology) refers to the technology of assembling electronic components on the surface of a PCB with the help of a picker.
Thus, workers specialize in maintaining, monitoring, managing, adjusting and operating automated machines to pick up and place electronic components on the PCB surface.
We call them PCB SMT operators. PCB SMT operators work closely with engineers, QA personnel and all other relevant personnel to ensure that SMT assembly is completed correctly.
First, we need to remember that there are several rather complex processes involved in SMT assembly. Each step has a different purpose, but they all share a common goal: to create accurate and reliable assembled PCBS.
After the end of the design phase, the assembly machine is installed. The process requires the use of CAD-generated data in a mounter or automated Optical inspection (AOI) machine.
The SMT PCB assembly process begins at the design stage. Using the PADS software platform, the layout of the PCB is determined in the design stage. Once the layout is ready, the data is ready and the assembly process can begin.
The most common challenges that electronic assembly SMT must overcome are defective components, poor reflow soldering and defective solder joints.
PCBS usually include flat pads without holes to support pins for electronic components. Templates are used to print solder paste on pads. Without templates, printing accuracy cannot be guaranteed.
Inspect the material for defects. The components are welded through the reflow furnace.
In order to complete this process, PCBS must be inspected for defects and to ensure that they are not damaged or incompatible with other components.
Surface mount components are smaller in size than through-hole components. These components may have no leads at all or only a small weldable area. In addition, they may have flat contacts with solder balls or terminals on the valve body.
However, they are not as flexible as through-hole components, so SMT PCB assembly manufacturers must take special precautions during assembly to minimize issues related to warping and temperature expansion.
